Orthokeratology

Rigid gas permeable (hard contact lenses) worn overnight, minimum of 8 hours.
Clear daytime vision without any contacts or glasses necessary
Non permanent changes; if lenses are discontinued for too long, cornea will return to normal and glasses/contacts will be required.
Great for kids that cannot tolerate contact lenses & larger range of RX eligible.
Due to overnight wear, slight risk of bacterial infection

Atropine Drops

0.01% or 0.05% Atropine (a diluted dilation drop) is instilled each night in each eye
Glasses are still worn daily
Easy to instill every night
May cause slightly blurry vision
Follow ups every 3 months
